The doors to the lab opened and a couple of heavy footstep trample right in. "Gosh, How can I just miss that stop at Sinnoh, Those idiots will pay for not making it clear and making me come to this unknown region. I bet they don't even have mountains like they do in Sinnoh, Heck I'm just slightly impress that even have a Pokemon League in this region." the Lass had said to herself, albeit a bit loud. She continue to walk heavily towards the screen with the Pokemon selection. "Hmp, this region think that are all that with this technology." She said again a bit loud. She tried to use the screen though with very little success.

Since both of the Professors were either out or asleep, it was up to the assistants to take care of new trainers for the day. For only the second time since beginning work in this laboratory, an assistant with glasses and a shiny Ampharos appeared out of the back room, giving the girl tinkering with the screen a pleasant smile.
"Hello! Are you here for a Pokémon?" Her smile faded just a tiny bit as she examined the newcomer. Somehow, she reminded her of something, something familiar. She turned to look at her Ampharos, ambling in slowly behind her as usual, despite her dislike of new trainers, and shook her head. It didn't matter, whatever she was thinking was so familiar about the girl. What mattered was that she got her going on her new adventure.

Dave turn her head towards the assistant and her Ampharos. The Ampharos reminds her of the mountains that she lived her whole life on, The fact that it was shiny it must be special to the assistant in someway. "Yeah, Yeah, Though this screen makes no sense. Why even have this for the trainers to use" She stated in a very bossy tone.

The question obviously caught the assistant off guard, so she stammered for a moment before clearing her throat and speaking clearly again. "Well, it's so that people that don't know about the Pokémon we offer can learn about them before choosing what they wish to take along on their journey. That way, we aren't sending people off with ill-suited Pokémon that might not assist them in their endeavors as well as they'd like." After a moment's pause, she continued. "Are you interested in any of the Pokémon showing on the screen right now?"

She glace at the screen once again she saw that there was a Mareep, Larvitar, and a Dratini. "These three" She loudly states to the assistant while pointing at the screen,"These three are the ones I would want to have".

"Fair enough, allow me to assist you with that, then!" The lady moved towards the screen and punched the proper buttons to cause the screen to move out of the way, and three Pokéballs popped out. She released all three at the same time by dropping them in the space on the floor, and they appeared in a flash.
The Mareep was a female, who bleated loudly upon appearing and looked up at the person waiting to see her. She seemed somewhat interested in the strange piercings in the girl's ears, but otherwise appeared to be calm and collected. The Larvitar was male and seemed to be quite a bit larger than a normal Larvitar, but he also seemed absolutely careless about anything around him. He didn't even bother looking around to see what was going on, he just sat down and stared at his own feet. The third Pokémon was a Dratini, another female. This one was of an unusual color, and looked very arrogant. She stared at her own shimmering scales proudly, smirking and ignoring everyone around her in favor of examining her own gorgeous pink-purple coloration.
"Well, here they are.. Any of these three would.. probably.. make a pretty good partner for travelling! If you're looking for a contest Pokémon, I think I would recommend this Dratini, she looks like she was born to be admired." At this, the Dratini beamed.

"Nah, something vain can't be all that tough, I need something dependable, something that doesn't mind taking a hit." She grunted out. She look at the other two, the Larvitar was a bit bigger than what she was to it might withstand a good attack. But that Mareep might be dependable as well and the fact that it looked at hershow that it might care for her. "You wouldn't mind if I play around between the three?" She asked.

The assistant was perfectly fine with this, naturally. "Sure, go right on ahead.. I can get your other things together while you decide." She moved towards the card printing machine, intent on getting these things done before the lab's guest finished deciding on a Pokémon. It was always good to do things quickly and efficiently, if at all possible.
Meanwhile, the Pokémon kept on doing what they were doing. The Mareep kept staring at Dave, bleating occasionally as if to make sure she wasn't forgotten about, and Larvitar still didn't care but he did stand up and wander towards a desk. Dratini snorted at Dave's comment on 'vain' Pokémon and thought of ways to prove otherwise.

The Larvitar leaped back in surprise; he had never been attacked by a human before! It didn't take him long to decide to fight back, though he knew he shouldn't seriously hurt the person. He used a light Tackle attack to try to knock her back, to show her he meant business. The Mareep, on the other hand, just stared in shock at the human, then looked to the assistant as if to ask her what had just happened. Said assistant was still trying to pick her dropped jaw up off of the floor, however, and said nothing.

She fell back a bit but regain her footing. She growled a bit then tried to tackle the Larvitar back. She then tried to get the other two involve with her playing by bucking around.

Though the Pokemon were each very different, they looked at each other in agreement; they'd have to battle this human, at least a little bit, and they'd have to work together. The Dratini, seemingly forgetting how much she admired her own coloration, lunged forward and Wrapped herself around Dave's legs, attempting to hold her in place. Larvitar stood his ground and prepared to use another Tackle attack should Dave try to attack them again, and Mareep, in trying to merely prepare a slight Thundershock, accidentally used a Thunder Wave on the girl. Whoops.

Being dazed from the shock she received from the Mareep made Dave relized that her goofing off had gone a little too far. Though she is glad that the pokemon worked together. She Feels like she know which one she wants now thanks the shock. She got back up after a while when she got the feeling back in her legs and looked at the assistant. "I want this Mareep. It's quite the fighter."

"Fair enough! She is a lively one." The assistant went into the back room for a few moments and emerged with a bag in tow. "Alright, with this, you'll be all set to go. Do you think you'll need a Contest Pass? If not, then you're good."

"Nah doing something like that would be a waste of time. Pokemon are meant to be tough" She said it with a bit of gruff in her voice."Either way, just direct me to the toughest, most brutal path to a gym and I'll be on my way."

"Well, um, Route 2 has stronger Pokemon than Route 1, normally.." The assistant still looked somewhat uncomfortable, but as she was able to put the Pokemon that weren't chosen away she relaxed visibly. "I'd recommend you go that way, or if you don't want to challenge a Dragon-type gym first, maybe take a train from this city to another one with an easier gym? The other gyms will have higher-leveled Pokemon, but they won't be one of the toughest possible types to beat.

"Ah, good that will be the way I go then." She stated. "Well if there isn't anything else I better be on my way then." With that she walked out of the Lab and headed to Route 2.
