This is a place for trainers to leave their beloved Pokémon for a while so that they can get stronger as the trainer travels. This is ideal for trainers that have a full team of six that they are training, but there is one or two other Pokémon they want to also gain experience and level up. Pokémon in the Daycare can gain levels and will automatically learn attacks, but they cannot evolve until they have gone back to their trainer.
Pokémon that are left here will earn experience as well as a small amount of happiness depending on how long they remain. Every day gives a Pokémon 5 experience points and 1 happiness point. If they are holding a Lucky Egg or a Soothe Bell, the proper point amount is doubled for their stay.
The minimum stay time for Pokémon is 5 days, which costs a flat fee of $350 for board and food. If a Pokemon wishes to stay longer, it is $75 extra per day. If you tell the attendant exactly how many days you wish for your Pokemon to stay, they will remove your Pokémon from the center and put them in a Pokéball storage unit until you pick them up; otherwise, the trainer will have to pay for every day they don't pick up their Pokémon.
In other words, if you are not prompt in picking up your Pokémon when you want to, or you don't tell the attendant how many days you want your Pokémon to stay, you do so at your own risk and that of your wallet.
If a trainer is unable to pay to take their Pokémon from the center, they will keep the Pokémon in a Pokéball storage unit until the trainer is able to pay. If a trainer leaves their Pokémon for more than 50 days without saying when they wish to pick the Pokémon up or visiting the center, the Pokémon may be given to the Breeding Center or put up for sale.
