In this region, some Pokémon species differ in appearance from the ones with which you may be acquainted. Most of these differences are purely aesthetic, as drastically changed as they may appear from the norm.

When a Pokémon is cloned, the resulting Pokémon appears differently from the original in a small way. Mewtwo's cloning machine only made changes to a few of the clones, giving them ominous-looking stripes to indicate the difference. The solitary machine in Youso that can clone Pokémon makes the clone a darker color than the original. This may vary slightly, giving the clone only darker markings or only causing the main color to darken, leaving the rest of the clone's colors normal; however, there will always be some slight color change to indicate a clone. Sometimes, a regular wild Pokémon may also have different colors than usual, but a wild Pokémon is very rarely a clone, as trainers are not allowed to release clones into the wild should they obtain one. Clones are generally unstable, and some are completely unable to evolve or breed.
