"Finally," a scruffy-looking young adult growls as he trudges through the mine shafts, eyeing the support beams- some of which are in better shape than others. "I'm not gonna collapse the arceus-forsaken mine, gosh. I know I'm not the most trustworthy-looking person, but cripes you don't have to question me for ten minutes..." Twirling the pickaxe the person at the desk had reluctantly handed over and tapping his headlamp, he turned to take a swing at a small crack in the wall. "'Coz I don't brush my hair means I'm a ragamuffin. Please," he continued muttering like this as he took another whack.
It was evident that Bryan was, suffice to say, not in the best of moods. Though, treasure-hunting did sound interesting. More interesting than 'becoming the very best, like no one ever was' like his parents were always hounding him about being. It didn't seem like a full time option, though; you couldn't come too often because you could apparently die or something, and they'd only let you leave with six objects. Which was reasonable; as much as you WANTED to be a greedy hoarder, you couldn't.
Though Bryan was pretty sure he wasn't going to die if he showed up more than once a week. But whatever. He inhaled deep and took another swing.

Bits and pieces of rock flew here and there until the distict sound of the pick axe hitting an object other than the rock wall was heard. It seems like he had struck something. It was sorta small, red, and star shaped. Seems Bryan found a Star Piece, a valuable item to collectors that can be sold as a reasonable price or he could just keep it himself if he wanted.

It took a bit of working, but he finally managed to unearth something interesting. It was a shiny red token-like piece in the shape of a star-- had to be worth something, right? Resting his pick up against his shoulder, Bryan pocketed the star piece and continued down the tunnels.
After walking what he deemed to be a reasonable distance, he selected a portion of wall and took a few swings at it. Clever guesswork, this mining business was-- but the treasure it'll yield will add up... Hopefully.

A bright red rectangle was unearth, known as a Flame Plate. A nice item to have as it powered up fire types. Though if he managed to get Arceus, then it could be put to it's true use.

After brushing the the dust off of the next find, it was revealed to be something you would think wouldn't have been left just lying around-- a fire plate, created by Arceus himself. He wasn't sure he'd be meeting Arceus anytime soon-- in fact, he was sure he'd never be meeting Arceus-- but it was neat, and he had a fire type pokemon that could test it out. Unless it wasn't for fire-types; he wasn't too knowledgeable about these things, but it had flame in the name.
Slipping it into his bag, Bryan continued his established pattern of walking a ways and then taking another few whacks at a promising-looking spot. It seemed to be working well so far.

Chipping away at the wall, something goldish brown would catch the young man's eye. If he kept mining around the item, it will reveal it's oval shape. The colors it had, a dark brown in the center and gradually becoming almost gold and then darker once more. Seems he found an Old Amber, fossil of sorts, that holds the dna of a prehistoric pokemon. When ever he heads to a lab, he could see if they can extract the ancient pokemon from within.

The next piece of loot he unearthed was something that he wasn't quite sure the purpose of was; it was quite smooth, orange, and had something trapped in it, but that was all he could discern. He hadn't payed attention to this stuff in class; it looked like something he'd seen in one of those boring trainer-prepping courses or whatever. Or maybe it had been an elective he'd taken for kicks and giggles.
Wherever it had been, Bryan had no memory of what it did. Shrugging it off, he decided he'd ask around at a town later-- that's what everyone did, right? Right. Pocketing the amber, he continued his dig.
